How's it made
Show Your Colors by Jennifer bracelets start as 10-30 feet of 550 Para cord, depending on the size requested. Para cord was originally used in the suspension lines of US parachutes during World War II and the paratroopers found other uses for the cord once they were on the ground. Strong and sturdy, this cord has even been used by astronauts during the second Space Shuttle mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope.

The 550 Para cord used in Show Your Color by Jennifer bracelets represents for us not only history, but strength, determination and perseverance that a person must have in order to change any situation in their lives. The Para cord is the support and lifeline needed to land safely when parachuting to a new way of life.

Show Your Colors by Jennifer's bracelets have the option of two stainless steel clasps types: the S-Clasp and the Horseshoe. Stainless steel, which does not easily stain, rust or corrode, brings the ends of the bracelet together. The clasps fortify the bracelets and reinforce the bracelet construction. The stainless steel clasps used in Show Your Colors by Jennifer represent an individual coming full circle. The clasps bring the ends of the bracelets together, and create an unbreakable bond that is held together by one of the strongest items known.

Weaving it all together
Show Your Colors by Jennifer are handmade with love and care. Jennifer Austin takes several pieces of Para cord, cut the length specific to the size and width of the bracelet requested and begins weaving, one cord over the other, intermingling various colors and styles to make each bracelet unique and special. Once the bracelet is completed, it is then fashioned with one of the stainless steel clasps.

Weaving this sturdy cord together represents the twists and turns that life gives us in the form of experiences. Separately, these events can't stand alone, just as the Para cord in the bracelet can't stand alone. But when woven together, into a strong tapestry, we are able to draw from that strength and then there is nothing that can't be accomplished.
